Namaste! One and All ♥
My name is Mira, also known as Mirabell in my sound work. I am a sound practitioner and filmmaker, and I have lived and worked in the Himalayas for nearly two decades. My Himalayan journey began with film work and has evolved over the years into a deep practice in Meditation, Reiki, Tai Chi, Qigong, and Sound.
My work connects ancient Himalayan sound traditions with my background in filmmaking, where I developed a trained ear for sound, bringing precision, depth, and deep listening into every aspect of my work. I work with carefully selected instruments and high-quality audio equipment to create immersive sound experiences that invite inner alignment and transformation.
ॐ Path & Experience
My path into Singing Bowls began during my work in film, collaborating on international projects including 1 Giant Leap, a double Grammy-nominated project, which introduced me to musician and filmmaker Jamie Catto. His search for a singing bowl led me to a master healer and maker of Full Moon Singing Bowls in Nepal.
This encounter marked the beginning of years of study and direct experience, continuing a tradition rooted in Himalayan knowledge and practice.
Alongside this path, my work is informed by practices such as Transcendental Meditation, Reiki, Tai Chi, and Qigong, all contributing to a deeper understanding of sound, chi, and presence.
ॐ Craft, Lineage & Sound
Together with my Nepali partner, Santa Shakya, a healer from a Newari lineage, we create authentic Full Moon Singing Bowls in Nepal, crafted in alignment with lunar cycles and traditional Himalayan methods.
Each bowl is:
- Made from carefully selected pure metals to ensure clarity and resonance
- Handcrafted using traditional techniques passed down through generations of skilled metal artisans
- Naturally shaped and refined through hand and ear, allowing each bowl to find its own tonal character
- Selected for its depth, resonance, and harmonic richness
With over 40 years of combined experience, our work is grounded in hands-on practice and ongoing study, and continues a three-generation artisan tradition rooted in knowledge passed down through family lineage.
Over the years, we continue to explore and deepen our understanding of sound through research and direct experience.
We offer a 3-day immersive sound course, with a certificate of completion issued in collaboration with my Nepali teacher, Santa Shakya, rooted in traditional Himalayan knowledge and experiential learning.
ॐ Our Signature Work: The Magic of Full Moon Singing Bowls
The Full Moon Singing Bowl practice was originally developed by my teacher, Santa Shakya, over a decade ago.
Each Full Moon Singing Bowl is crafted on full moon nights in Nepal, with every step carried out by hand in alignment with the lunar cycle and traditional ritual practices.
Through years of dedicated craftsmanship and exploration, we have developed a unique resonance in these bowls: deep, powerful, and refined.
We are honoured to share this work with sound practitioners, musicians, therapists, and meditators worldwide.
This process creates bowls with deep, long-lasting resonance and rich harmonic depth.
Available in a full tonal range, 12 notes:
A / A# / B / C / C# / D / D# / E / F / F# / G / G#
In addition to Full Moon Singing Bowls, we also offer a wider range of traditional instruments, including other types of singing bowls, gongs, and cymbals, all made using the same traditional knowledge and craftsmanship.
ॐ What I Offer
Our work extends beyond instruments into sound as a living experience:

Our speciality lies in carefully selecting each bowl for our clients based on its tonal quality, resonance, and character.
For our online shop, this process is carried out together with a team of musicians. We provide a sound recording of every bowl, allowing you to listen to its unique tone and quality before it is sent to you, so you can choose with confidence without needing to be physically present.
Each offering is created for those seeking authenticity, depth, and refined sound quality. I bring direct experience from the source into my work.
ॐ A Living Practice
My highest intention is always to let sound dissolve the boundaries between craft, spirit, and healing.
From the Himalayas to international spaces, I continue to share this practice through teaching, collaboration, and immersive sound work. I work as a bridge between East and West.
May these Singing Bowls, Gongs and Cymbals
bring harmony, presence, clarity and peace.
Sound blessings,
Mirabell (Mira Arad) and Himalayan team
